A workshop to rediscover woodcut and linocut, engraving techniques that have become the autonomous means of expression of many contemporary artists. Woodcut is a technique of engraving images on wooden tablets, called matrices, which are subsequently inked and used for the production of several copies on paper by printing with the press. Once printed, the sheet will detect that the hollowed out parts will be white while the embossed ones will be black. Since woodblock is a type of relief engraving, it is not difficult to insert the wood matrix into the typographic forms, while simultaneously printing text and images.
Print Club Turin hosts Libri Finti Clandestini, a cosmopolitan and mocking collective whose purpose is to create real books (sketchbooks, notebooks, travel diaries, object books) using only paper found around, that paper that is normally considered garbage: waste typography, proofing and starter papers, grocery bags, posters, envelopes, bread bags, even wallpaper.
Fluorescent and transparent colors, fantasy and out of register: risograph printing is accessible to everyone! You come with the desire to experiment and have fun, the tutors of the Print Club Torino will help you create a limited edition of your subject.
The course is open to all lovers of screen printing and to those who want to experiment with this technique on fabric. The workshop allows you to explore the file design or elaboration of a design suitable for screen printing to produce your own original design. In a day of full immersion, each participant will have the opportunity to deepen the stages of the screen printing process and the creation of their subject. Finally you will be able to produce your t-shirts (and not only) in screen printing!
